Now if you're a mom, you've undoubtedly asked your self, "is my baby getting enough food?" Time and time again, as the baby's appetite changes, you will continue to ask yourself if you are feeding your baby enough. Whether breastfeeding or formula feeding, all babies require different amounts of food; however, there are helpful guidelines that have medically proven to be appropriate for recommended amounts of feeding based on age.

From birth to 4 months, your baby's diet consists of 100% breast milk or formula. Since breast milk is digested more quickly than formula, breast fed babies tend to eat more often. If you are not bottle feeding your baby, it can become tough to estimate how much they are getting which means you must pay close attention to signs that your baby is full and signs that they may be ready to eat again. Luckily, newborn babies adjust to feeding schedules they are put on by their mother and can grow accordingly.

If you are bottle feeding your child, here are some helpful hints:

• On average, a newborn consumes about 1.5-3 ounces (45-90 milliliters) every 2-3 hours. This amount increases as your baby grows and is able to take more at each feeding.
• At about 2 months, your baby may be taking 4-5 ounces (120-150 milliliters) at each feeding and the feedings may be every 3-4 hours.
• At 4 months, your baby may be taking 4-6 ounces (120-180 milliliters) at each feeding, depending on the frequency of feedings and his or her size.
• By 6 months, your baby's daily intake can be between 24-32 ounces (720-950 milliliters). This also depends on whether you've introduced any baby food.

When your baby begins solid foods, you can expect for them to drink less milk, but it is important to continue to provide breast milk or formula until they turn 1 year old.

Hidden Treasure!

I have a few picky eaters at home that refuse to eat certain vegetables. Over time I found that my husband and I could use our Bare Blendz combinations and infuse them into the food that my kids already loved and enjoyed eating. Here are some of the foods that we paired our signature blends with.....and the kids had no clue that they were eating healthy. Bare Blendz isn't just for babies, it's a good way to get your child to eat healthier without the fuss.

1. Pizza- Put our carrot blend into the pizza sauce.
2. Spaghetti- Mix the Bare Blendz peas into the spaghetti sauce
3. Macaroni and cheese- Mix the cauliflower blend into the cheese and then place on the noodles, melt in the oven.

You Are What You Eat?

At Bare Blendz, we support health through the selection of our products that we use. We all know that if we eat healthier that there are many benefits that come along with it. With this being said, we want the best for our children which leads down to choosing quality and healthy foods for them. Now I'm sure you have heard the saying, "you are what you eat".  Well you really are! Here are a few reasons why:

1. Did you know that a carrot looks like the human eye? The pupil, iris and radiating lines look like the human eye and it's good for the eyes as well.

2. A tomato has four chambers and it's red. The human heart has four chambers and it's red as well. Research has proven that tomatoes help the heart and the blood flow in the human body.

3.Walnuts look similar to the human brain with a left and right hemisphere and wrinkles. Walnuts are known to help increase over 3 dozen neuron-transmitters for brain functioning.

4. Avocados help to target the health and functioning of the womb and cervix in females. Isn't it funny how  it has a huge seed in it...like a growing baby? It also takes 9 months for an avocado to grow!

5.Sweet potatoes look like the pancreas and help to balance the index of diabetes.

Amazing isn't it......now let's grow healthy kids together!
